How to create easy to remember affiliate links in WordPress

As a blogger or small business owner, you likely have a bunch of affiliate links that you like to use. The only problem? The links are a series of random characters a mile long. Who can remember that? Luckily there are WordPress plugins out there that can help you create easy to remember affiliate links, which means you can quickly share them without hunting down the original link.

First, install and activate the Redirection plugin.

Then navigate to tools > redirection.

Under the add new redirection heading, you’re going to enter a source URL and a target URL. The source URL is going to be the custom link. So if you want the link to be http://yourdomain.com/affiliate, you would enter affiliate into the source URL box. The target URL box is where you’ll put your original affiliate link.

When you’ve entered both the source and target URLs, click add redirection. That’s it! Now you can use your new custom affiliate link to quickly and easily link to products you’re an affiliate for.

Just remember to read over the terms of your affiliate agreement as some affiliate programs don’t allow you to use a custom link.

PS: Another plugin you can use for custom affiliate links is Pretty Link Lite.
